ARTIST STATEMENT
Being proud to say that I have spent most of my life in Madison and Southern Wisconsin as an artist, I have known that trying to define the cultural landscape (urban & rural) would spirit my artwork.  Primarily using my own photos helps capture ideas and images I can refer to in my compositions.  A style that seems to describe my work might be "impressionistic realism", with the point of interest directing an approach to each painting.  Mundane is okay with me, sometimes life is, and yet it inspires artwork with a candid viewpoint.  Portraits, have also long been a significant portion of my portfolio.
